The company was founded in 1996 by Lynn Rabren. The "boutique Gulf Coast boatbuilder" was purchased in 2007 by Curt Morse after a difficult period in which it had struggled in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.〔Ann Abel. (Caribiana Sea Skiffs.
